Urban Angel

Urban Angel
Okay everyone - I painted this original design in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life coming up at the end of April. I will be there all night walking with the Blackbird Team.

This painting represents the angels in our lives who are watching over us and honors those who still fill our hearts with love each day!

You can purchase a custom 5x7.75 inch print matted to 8x10 and ready to frame for only $10.00 and 100% of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society! Larger prints are available too! For info e-mail me at

The Tweet Life

This was a really fun painting! This is the ultimate tree house for Birds (not the Angry Birds!) This was done on a 12 x 30 x 1.5 inch block canvas in Acrylic. It was actually harder than most of my paintings because of the fine detail and crisp lines. All black outlines were done with a brush as well.

Thanks for looking and always feel free to contact me to purchase any pieces that you just can't live without anymore.
Prints are always available too.

Colorful Heart

Colorful Heart - Acrylic Box Canvas Wrap - 18x24
Well, here is my latest in colorful expression!
Prints and originals are available for all entries on my blog.

My next couple of entries should be funny and cute! I am entering a show Called "House of Fun"!

Thanks again for looking! These new pieces will be hung next week in a Cafe in Phoenix called Hob Nobs - a real eclectic
cafe and gallery.

I also chose my music for the Art of War exhibit at ASU. I chose Schuman's "Prayer in a Time of War". Many thoughts right now and they will get in my sketch book soon!

Selected for the Art exhibition for the ASU Sinfonietta's The Art of War

I was selected from a group of Artists in Arizona to participate in the the art exhibition for the ASU Sinfonietta's The Art of War on April 20th, 2011, beginning at 6:30pm (concert 7:30pm) This is such an interesting Art Show and an honor to be selected. A new piece of art must be created that goes with one of the pieces performed by the symphony that night. This will be very challenging but as an artist I accept that challenge and will no doubt lose sleep over this. I was sent links to the music and I have not selected my piece yet but will by the end of the weekend. Luckily, my musician husband has performed many of the pieces so he is quite helpful. This will require some research as well but again - I can't grow as an artist unless I am challenged! Here are the pieces I have to choose from! Wish me luck! I will keep you posted!
Wagner: Valkyries; Vorspiel (prelude to act 1) and Ride of the Valkyries
Liszt: Hunnenschlacht (Battle of the Huns) audio file in 2 parts
Schuman: Prayer in Time of War
Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture audio file in 2 parts

Well, I have been painting like crazy - who needs sleep right? I have to replace and refresh some art in various locations and this style seems to do very well for me. Crazy Colorful! I love to paint using such bright colors.
