Colorful Heart

Colorful Heart - Acrylic Box Canvas Wrap - 18x24
Well, here is my latest in colorful expression!
Prints and originals are available for all entries on my blog.

My next couple of entries should be funny and cute! I am entering a show Called "House of Fun"!

Thanks again for looking! These new pieces will be hung next week in a Cafe in Phoenix called Hob Nobs - a real eclectic
cafe and gallery.

I also chose my music for the Art of War exhibit at ASU. I chose Schuman's "Prayer in a Time of War". Many thoughts right now and they will get in my sketch book soon!

Selected for the Art exhibition for the ASU Sinfonietta's The Art of War

I was selected from a group of Artists in Arizona to participate in the the art exhibition for the ASU Sinfonietta's The Art of War on April 20th, 2011, beginning at 6:30pm (concert 7:30pm) This is such an interesting Art Show and an honor to be selected. A new piece of art must be created that goes with one of the pieces performed by the symphony that night. This will be very challenging but as an artist I accept that challenge and will no doubt lose sleep over this. I was sent links to the music and I have not selected my piece yet but will by the end of the weekend. Luckily, my musician husband has performed many of the pieces so he is quite helpful. This will require some research as well but again - I can't grow as an artist unless I am challenged! Here are the pieces I have to choose from! Wish me luck! I will keep you posted!
Wagner: Valkyries; Vorspiel (prelude to act 1) and Ride of the Valkyries
Liszt: Hunnenschlacht (Battle of the Huns) audio file in 2 parts
Schuman: Prayer in Time of War
Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture audio file in 2 parts

Caliente!

Caliente - 20x24 - Acrylic Box Wrap Canvas - SOLD
Well, I have been painting like crazy - who needs sleep right? I have to replace and refresh some art in various locations and this style seems to do very well for me. Crazy Colorful! I love to paint using such bright colors.

Thanks for looking at my art and stay tuned for my next exciting post that is sure to challenge me as an artist!

New Art for d•vine Bistro & Wine Lounge in Chandler AZ

Peace & Love - 2 Acrylic Paintings 10x30
I will be hanging my art at a really upscale Bistro & Wine Lounge in Chandler AZ called d*vine this week. I am really excited to get my work in a new venue. I have been painting a lot and I have several other venues that I need to rotate my art and update. This just means I need to paint more!

I will be updating work at the Rhino Cafe in Queen Creek, Hob Nobs in Phoenix and Poppy's Place in
Queen Creek as well.

I am still working the food series too. I need to get about 6 pieces total to present it as a show. Those paintings take a significantly larger amount of time to complete because of their detail and large size. Thanks for looking!

d•vine - go check it out!

Evening Owls

I have a great love of owls and thought these fun pieces were a real hoot! These pieces were done on 16 x 20
aquaboards with a 2 inch cradle that were painted black.
I really like art that sticks out from the wall with a 3-D effect.

Many of my pieces will be going on display soon so let me know if anyone is interested.

Originals are available as well as photographic matted and framed prints.

With the weather being so great, there are quite a few festivals in Arizona going up as well as other avenues of displaying and selling art. Right now my biggest problem is finding more time to paint!!

One of my  next posts will be a large format acrylic that will be used to raise money for the big Relay for Life event in Queen Creek AZ. Then . . . it's back to the diner food!

Thanks for looking! I really appreciate your thoughts as well.

SOLD!

The Almighty Burger!

24x30x2.5 Acrylic on Canvas - 385.
Well here it is! A tribute to the almighty burger!
I highly recommend that every vegetarian paints meat because it will make you dislike it even
more- ha! This was quite a challenge but it was fun because the subject is such a big part of our culture, childhood memories and so much more! Who doesn't remember Bob's Big Boy? And for all you
young kids - I'm sure it looks like a crabby patty!
This 24 x 30 piece was painted with acrylics!
I have said good bye to the burger as I add it to the collection and I am prepping for the next culinary treat! Stay tuned . . . will it be a dessert, main course  . . . or a snack time favorite? Thanks for looking!!!

Retro Diner Dessert

18x24x2.5 Acrylic on Canvas - $295.
Here's the latest! This is for all you dieters, lactose intolerant, vegans! We can only look not taste! This was a lot of fun and it is the first in a series I am creating of Retro Diner Food. I have started the hamburger but . . . (I tell myself it's a veggie burger)!
This is an acrylic 18x24 block canvas.

The series will include burgers, fries, pies, soup etc. and will include a cool blast from the past nifty fifty logo of some sort!

Thanks for looking! I appreciate your art appreciation and support.
